Training Day 44: REST

I'm not a fast runner, I'm a long distance runner.

But as every athlete, we all get injured. Today I did some research and I know, I know I should have gone to a real doctor like I've said in the past but I was just curious to see what WebMD would have to say about my injury which is something I may not necessarily have to worry about. It looks like I may just have a bad case of RUNNER'S KNEE. After working on the machines again yesterday I may have irritated it again. So I need to take today off from running. Perhaps, I may walk, or Cross Train (I still haven't really Cross Trained yet).

Hoping for the best,
RunnerKE

Training Day 40: (No)WT + REST

Still sick. No weight training today. Feeling better after lots of sleep. Still achy though. Finally have an appetite and able to down fluids.

Training Day 39: No 3-mile Run

Stuck at home battling a stomach flu. I feel weak and tired and have not had any relief whatsoever.

No run today.

Training Day 33: Weight Training + REST

TODAY's LESSON: Enough sleep makes all the difference.

I was hoping that we'd have an easy day today. But really, who was I trying to fool. And why would I ever want to sign up for a class only to take it 'easy' and not benefit anything from it?

"Okay, we have 4 mins left, find a spot on the floor!" Coach C instructed.

Planks.

I hate them. But I love the benefit I get after doing them. The thing is I knew I knew there was something off when I couldn't do a set. So I started to think if it was my diet: ah yes! Not enough water yesterday. Then maybe energy: not enough sleep either!

Tomorrow's "run" is 8 miles. That's the goal at least. If I can't run it all the way I'm walking it then! I'm determined to get back into it. So now it will start with a long nap.

Happy Labor weekend everyone!

Training Day 20: REST

Still resting.

Recovering post-wisdom teeth removal is starting to become quite...restless for me. Even though I admit I was looking forward to having some time off, it's not all fun to be quite honest. What I would like to do is start running again; get back into training. But I understand that soon when I am healed I will be able to run to my heart's content.

At least today I've given some time to reflect on things in life. How I can improve on my short-comings and how I can continue to be inspired to do even more fulfilling things. Perhaps it starts with a clean slate and an open heart.

So this is me opening up my heart: to accept temporary happiness, failures, and lasting triumphs.

Letting the light in,

Training Day 19: REST

Just when I thought I was feeling better I started to feel sore again. Luckily, the salty-water solution, pain killers, and ice help quite a bit. It's just such a bummer to be indoors and in PAIN! Yesterday, I probably should have rested but I figured, I was feeling just fine so I went to the grocery, took a walk around the block (after a 5-hour nap of course). I was just anxious to be out and about.

BIG MISTAKE.

Now I just feel achy and did I mention sore? I hope I feel better tomorrow. I'm really going to take it easy from this point on. REST, rest, rest!

Taking it really easy,

Training Day 18: Thoughts on Running

I am glad it's over.

My wisdom teeth were taken out today. Yes, all four of 'em. I know I shouldn't be writing; I shouldn't Be doing anything. The pain us completely agonizing! I keep reminding myself that pain is temporary. It's just hard to remember. The only thing helping is the pain killer I was prescribed and the ice plastered on my face. I have great nurses.

Keeping my mind off the pain, I decided to listen to an audiobook. Might as well!

Running again soon!
