Training Day 4: Finding the Right Pace

I learned something very important during this evening's run. I learned that I really need to first get used to a certain pace and run the distance I so choose. For instance today, my goal was to run for 15 minutes without stopping. Well, at an ambitious speed of 4.5 mph, I started to get that cramping sensation again from my left calf. My breath was shortening. I was getting tired. This is NOT my pace (for now) I realized. So I lowered it to 4.1mph ahhh much better. Though it was still challenging for me, I was okay. Then I realized my lunch break was almost over so I had to cool down shortly after.

Again, I need to set aside time early in the morning to really work on this; on time, on speed, on getting used to RUNNING! Lunch breaks help and has been helping but I need to get serious now. That also means, I need to start doing strength training again. This is so important.

Til tomorrow.
