Training Day 36: 3 mile-goal

Today was a great day.

Labor Day.

A national holiday here in the United States and therefore, no classes. That doesn't mean that I am taking a holiday from training of course. So after a day out shopping for new running gear (which I will get to in a bit), I hit the gym. First up: the warm-up, a 5-minute run. I was feeling great. Then I stretched and took note of stretching my right let longer than I would due to my pinching knee issue. Then I lifted some weights: arms, legs, & shoulders. When it came to running I did alright for the first quarter mile but when half a mile came around my knee started to bother me. So I walked it off and it was okay. I ran again. No problem! Swung my hips a bit more and I was feeling better. Then...I ran out of time. I had to hit the showers and get to work.

There was a big Labor Day Sale at Fleet Feet in Chico so my sister and I headed over. It was time we bought the right sports bra and the wonderful Sarah helped us find just that.

I also felt that it was time I invested in better running pants. The North Face flight series had a great pair of capri tight pants that fit like a glove and were designed to let my legs breathe for once. You can only imagine my excitement! I knew I shouldn't have spent as much as I had today but I believe that I deserve it. Again, it's also just a good investment.
